DES MOINES, Iowa — A probation revocation hearing has been scheduled for a Des Moines sex trafficking victim who killed the man she says raped her.
The whereabouts of Pieper Lewis, 21, had been unknown until Friday, when she turned herself in and was booked into the Polk County Jail for violation of probation.
Online court record show the probation revocation hearing has been scheduled for January 2nd at 9:00 a.m. A judge could rule Lewis must serve the 20-year prison sentence she was originally given.
Lewis pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and willful injury in 2023 for the stabbing death of 37-year-old Zachary Brooks in 2020. She was 15 at the time of Brooks’ death and claimed he had raped her repeatedly and she was a victim of sex trafficking.
