Back in October, a fire damaged a food truck parked at the Corpus Christi Trade Center, and now the story has started circulating again on social media. The incident happened on October 6 and involved Elotes El Regio Dos, a familiar vendor to Trade Center regulars.
According to officials, the fire broke out around 2:15 p.m. and destroyed the food truck along with equipment, supplies, and personal belongings. Fire crews were able to put the blaze out quickly, and no injuries were reported. A fire investigator was called to the scene, but the focus quickly shifted to what came next for the family who owned the truck.
A regular at the Trade Center
Elotes El Regio Dos was owned by Alfredo and Nichelle Gonzales, who regularly served roasted corn cups, tacos, and other popular items to Trade Center crowds. After the fire, a GoFundMe was launched by a family friend to help cover the cost of replacing equipment and restocking ingredients. The goal was set at $5,000, and donations began coming in shortly after.
