FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas — A former Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office deputy accused of murder is now also accused of fraud.
Investigators said LaMarcus Smith is accused of tampering with his mistress’ husband’s life insurance policy. Just last month, Smith was arrested and accused of killing his own wife, Laura, more than a year ago.
