OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Two memorial events honored 117 homeless individuals who died in Omaha this year, with ceremonies held at Gene Leahy Mall and Open Door Mission.
The memorials featured 117 shoes and 117 candles to represent each person who lost their life. Many of the deceased never received funerals or formal recognition of their deaths.
