For New Orleanians who liked their sausage hot, there was once a place in the 7th Ward that brought the heat better than anywhere else: Bachemin’s Meat Market.
Known as the “Home of Creole Hot Sausage,” it was often the next stop after shopping at Circle Food Store, right next door.
“For nearly 40 years, customers flocked to Bachemin’s Meat Market to buy spicy beef sausages, share cooking recipes and swap gossip,” Deseret News states. “But the shop has long been gutted, the walk-in freezers emptied.”…
