RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — After sitting damaged and nearly untouched for more than a year, construction has finally resumed on a fire-damaged home in Reno’s Damonte Ranch neighborhood, much to the relief of nearby residents.
The two-story house on Fire Poppy Circle burned in May 2024. The elderly homeowner, in her late 80s, and her adult son escaped safely. But once firefighters left and the smoke cleared, neighbors say the burned structure quickly became more than an eyesore.
