FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCBD) – Folly Beach will welcome 2026 with a full slate of New Year’s traditions, including a beachfront fireworks show, the Flip-Flop Drop, and the annual Bill Murray Look-a-Like Polar Plunge.
The celebration kicks off New Year’s Eve with a family-friendly fireworks show at 9 p.m., lighting up the Folly Beach skyline. The display can be enjoyed from the shoreline and along Center Street, offering plenty of room for locals and visitors to take in the show.
At 10 p.m., Center Street will close as crews prepare for Folly Beach’s famous Flip-Flop Drop. When the clock strikes midnight, a giant, glittering pair of flip-flops will descend above Center Street, marking the arrival of 2026 in true Folly fashion…
