The Memphis Safe Task Force has seized more than 650 illegally possessed firearms, marking a major milestone in efforts to reduce gun violence citywide.
Memphis, TN. — The Memphis Safe Task Force announced it has seized more than 650 illegally possessed firearms since the initiative began, reaching a significant milestone in its effort to reduce violent crime and improve public safety across the city.
Since its launch, the task force has worked with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to identify violent offenders, disrupt criminal activity, and remove unlawfully possessed firearms from circulation. Officials said each firearm seized represents a weapon no longer available to threaten Memphis residents or law enforcement officers.
“The effects of this work will echo for generations, laying the foundation for safer communities across Memphis and beyond,” said Gadyaces S.
