A new scam has been reported in southern Illinois and west Tennessee.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, a resident received a call from a person identifying themself as “Deputy Kevin Douglas”, with the Sheriff’s Office. They went on to say the person had missed jury duty and was subject to arrest.
The Sheriff’s Office says they have no deputy by that name, and they will never call anyone to inform them of a warrant, or to demand immediate action over the phone…
