Metro Social Services: Families still struggling months after SNAP disruption

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Metro Social Services says many Nashville families are still feeling the ripple effects of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits disruption tied to the government shutdown, and recovery is far from over.

Officials say food insecurity was already a growing crisis before the disruption, and the temporary threat to SNAP benefits only made the situation worse. According to Metro Social Services, it could take another two to three months before many families are fully back on their feet.
