What will the minimum wage be in Rhode Island in 2026? Increase coming

Good news for the 50,000 Rhode Island workers who earn minimum wage: in 2026, their paycheck will go up.

In August, Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee signed legislation that will raise the state’s minimum wage from $15 an hour to $16 an hour in 2026 and to $17 an hour in 2027.

“Hard work should be met with fair pay,” said McKee in a press release. “By raising minimum wage over the next two years, we are sending a clear message that our commitment to hard-working Rhode Islanders has never been stronger.”…
