A Leesburg teen will appear in court for allegedly running out of Dollar General with a basket full of clothes and candy.
An officer responded to Dollar General, located at 3335 U.S. Hwy. 27/441, regarding a shoplifter around 11:50 a.m. Thursday, according to a case report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. The store manager advised that 19-year-old Killian Franklin Hipp ran out of the store carrying a yellow store basket with multiple items he did not pay for.
Law enforcement was given a photo of Hipp riding away on his bicycle, which was used to recover all $75.25 worth of stolen items. These included several packs of tank tops, double-stuffed Oreos, men’s socks, cow hide gloves, gaiters, a Mission cooling mask, bandanas, Now and Laters, and Trolli sour candy, the report said…
