MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service’s (MCFRS) fiscal management practices have come under scrutiny in a recent audit by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG).
Inspector General Megan Davey Limarzi announced the release of the “Performance Audit of the Fiscal Management Division, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service” on Monday.
The audit, conducted under the OIG’s mandate to review internal accounting processes, found significant lapses in the management and oversight of purchasing card (P-Card) transactions and Emergency Medical Services Transport.
