A Leesburg woman was arrested when her involvement in a collision revealed she did not have a driver’s license.
A trooper heard and saw a traffic collision between a white Hyundai sedan and a blue Kia SUV on County Road 44 in Leesburg around 4:55 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, according to an arrest report from the Florida Highway Patrol. After moving both vehicles to the westbound shoulder, he spoke with 33-year-old Tiffany Elizabeth Arledge, the driver of the Hyundai.
She handed over a Florida ID but not a driver’s license, saying she thought that was it. A check of her driving history revealed she had moved to Florida on Nov. 12, 2020, and her license had been terminated the same day due to an unfinished traffic law and substance abuse education course, the report said.
When the trooper asked for details of her license, Arledge advised that when she moved, she got an ID instead of a license. She thought she took care of the issue in 2023 yet did not have proof of this. She stated she talked to the DMV, and they took her ID card from there to give her what she believed was her driver’s license, the report said…
