Charges filed against man accused of pointing gun at St. Paul cops before they shot him in leg

A Minneapolis man is facing several felony charges after he allegedly stole a rental car and pointed a firearm at the St. Paul police officers who tracked him down and shot him in the leg.

Court records show Elliot Samuels Vaughn, 32, faces counts of first-degree assault against a peace officer, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, and theft of a motor vehicle.
