ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Becky Erbe recognized names on a list of deceased homeless people. The associate pastor for outreach at Second First Church covered her heart with a hand when discussing the familiarity.
“We don’t want their names to disappear. We want to remember who they were and what they brought to the world,” she declared.
On Monday afternoon, Erbe joined around 30 advocates, faith leaders and community members at a memorial service honoring homeless men and women who died in the last year.
