Charlotte jazz legend’s son responds after father’s statue allegedly stolen from music club

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Police are continuing to search for an important piece of Charlotte’s history that was stolen from a local business.

A statue of local jazz legend Loonis McGlohon was taken earlier in December from a Charlotte nightclub on South Brevard Street. Charlotte Crime Stoppers is asking the community for help finding it. The larger Loonis McGlohon statue is still sitting at the Little Sugar Creek Greenway.

The McGlohon family is hoping that the smaller statue is returned, but wants the community to focus on the music legacy…
