Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Holiday Closures Scheduled with Essential Services Remaining Active

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced that its facilities will be closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays. According to the sheriff’s office website, facilities will be closed from tomorrow through Friday, and again on January 1, 2026. The closures include all district substations, from District 1 at 5258-13 Norwood Avenue to District 6 at 1680 Dunn Avenue, as well as the Police Memorial Building at 501 East Bay Street and other publicly accessible buildings. Patrol and communications operations will continue without interruption during these closures.

The sheriff’s office confirmed that the Patrol Division and Communications Center will remain operational during the holiday closures. “To service our community, JSO’s Patrol Division and the Communications Center will continue to operate as usual,” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office stated.
