Homicide detectives are actively investigating a fatal shooting tied to an apparent robbery that claimed the life of 24-year-old Jose Manuel Jimiez Luna. According to a statement published by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the tragic event unfolded just before midnight when Luna and his wife, who had just left work, arrived home in separate vehicles.
As detailed by the police report, Luna’s wife experienced the first contact with danger as she parked her Dodge Durango; a masked gunman forced her to the back of the vehicle and robbed her of her wallet and cell phone. The encounter escalated when the assailant fired two shots into the Durango—alarmingly close to where the couple’s infant child was seated. Simultaneously, Luna, who had arrived in his Ram pickup truck, found himself in a physical altercation with a second armed perpetrator.
