The USS New Jersey spent 78 days in dry dock and came out looking better than it has in decades.

The 887-foot battleship, which earned 19 battle stars across four wars, returned to the same Philadelphia shipyard where it was built in 1943 for a $10 million restoration.

Workers scraped the hull, replaced more than 1,300 corrosion-preventing anodes, and painted everything with a system designed to last 30 years…
