TOLEDO, Ohio — A Wisconsin mother is expected to reunite with her family for Christmas after spending six months in immigration detention in northwest Ohio.
Elvira Benitez Suarez was released Monday from the Lucas County Jail,. She had been held under an Immigration and Customs Enforcement contract at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio in Stryker since July.
