Wilmington International Airport’s first international commercial flight is set to take off on Wednesday morning, capping a year of growth for the airport.
The flight to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, which Avelo Airlines officials announced in August, is scheduled to depart at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The seasonal flight, which will run on Wednesdays and Saturdays through April, is a milestone for the growing ILM, airport director Jeff Bourk said at the time of the announcement.
