FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Indiana House Democratic Leader Phil GiaQuinta has responded to The Washington Post’s decision to name Indiana its inaugural “State of the Year.” While he agrees with the recognition of state senators’ refusal to redraw congressional maps mid-decade, he criticized other aspects of the editorial.
GiaQuinta, a Democrat from Fort Wayne, said the editorial overlooked the negative impacts of recent Statehouse decisions on taxes, schools, and child care.
