AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — The Amarillo Zoo is considering a significant transformation as it plans to transition into a nonprofit organization next year.
Training has already begun to improve operations, although a contract with the city is still pending. Stephanie Brady, executive director of the Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, expressed optimism about the potential partnership.
“So, section four is the area that covers most of your apex predators. So it’s going to be your jaguars or your lions. That’s not typically something we get here in the Wild West. Our biggest cats are going to be bobcats. And we’ve not worked with the Jaguar before, so we’re definitely learning there as well,” Brady said…
