Cedar Rapids police cameras among dozens exposed to unrestricted access

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – A security researcher discovered he could access live video feeds from Cedar Rapids Police surveillance cameras, exposing footage of children, mental health calls, and the daily routines of residents.

Benn Jordan, a YouTuber from Georgia who researches technology privacy issues, found nearly 70 Flock Safety cameras across the country were accessible to anyone with internet access. The cameras included the Cedar Rapids Police Department’s Condor model surveillance systems.
