Early morning Batavia homicide leaves woman dead, man in custody

BATAVIA, Ill. (WGN) — A Batavia man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead inside an apartment early Tuesday morning, following a call in which the man told dispatchers he killed his wife.

Batavia police says officers were called to an apartment building in the 100 block of Church Street around 4:37 a.m. Responding officers found a man, identified as 37-year-old  Hector Luvianos-Barrera, of Batavia, outside the apartment and took him into custody.

When officers entered the apartment, they found a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the incident was domestic-related and involved only the two individuals. Police said there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the community…
