Garrison severance package may exceed $125k

BELOIT — The School District of Beloit will pay former superintendent Willie Garrison II about $125,000 in 2026 as part of his separation agreement with the district.

According to the document obtained in an open records request, Garrison’s final day as an official district employee is Dec. 31. The district agreed to pay him “four and a half months’ severance at his final salary per diem rate.”

That covers Jan. 1 to May 15 and his final per diem rate, according to the district, was $798.57 per day. There are 97 work days, not including weekends, during those 4 1/2 months so the district will pay Garrison nearly $77,500. The severance agreement did not list a final salary cost other than to say it would be paid in a lump sum on the first payroll following Dec. 31…
