Long-unsolved Kettering murder case comes to a close with sentencing

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A long-unsolved case came to a close Tuesday as the man convicted in the murder of a 28-year-old Kettering woman nearly a quarter-century ago learned his fate.

Jonathan Eric Link, 61, was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison after being found guilty of killing Shannon Anderson, 28, in 2001. He had been convicted on Dec. 12.

Link bludgeoned Anderson to death in her bedroom. Initially, there was insufficient evidence to indict him in 2001, but new tests and technology, along with the persistence of detectives, led to his 2025 indictment…
