Police find meth after woman allegedly tries to pass fake check

A Falkville woman was arrested Dec. 1 after Decatur police responded to a call about an intoxicated person and it was later discovered she was in possession of multiple fraudulent checks, stolen merchandise and drugs, according to a detective’s affidavit.

Victoria Michelle Mendoza, 41, was charged with second-degree financial exploitation of an elderly person, fourthdegree theft of property, public intoxication, and three counts of public intoxication and was held in lieu of a $6,100 bond at the Morgan County Jail before bonding out Dec. 15. On Dec. 13, the detective made contact with Mendoza at a business in the 2800 block of Spring Avenue. Mendoza had apparently attempted to pass a fraudulent check at the business…
