According to GasBuddy.com, the national average is $2.89, thirteen cents lower than a year ago. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is twenty-nine cents lower than last year at $2.95 a gallon. Across the river in Indiana, the statewide average is $2.73, thirty-seven cents lower than Christmas Eve 2024. Oklahoma drivers are paying the lowest prices in the nation, with an average of $2.23 a gallon, a twenty-six-cent decline from last year.
