Atlanta Police Caution Against Facebook Marketplace Deals After Violent Theft at Chevron Station

Atlanta law enforcement officials are urging the public to exercise caution when engaging in transactions on Facebook Marketplace following a recent theft that escalated into violence. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the incident occurred at a Chevron gas station on Pryor Road, where the victim had arranged to sell an iPhone via the online platform.

In what unfolded to quickly become a distressing episode, the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Jacon Beasley, allegedly snatched the phone and attempted to flee the scene in his truck. In the process, he struck the seller with his vehicle. Reports suggest that Beasley then collided with a gas pump before a witness intervened to detain him until police arrived.
