AUSTIN, Texas — A equipment failure at an Austin Water lift station caused approximately 198,000 gallons of raw sewage to spill into a creek in northeast Austin, officials said.
The overflow from the public lift station at 13625 Coomer Path in Pflugerville was discovered at 9:50 a.m. Monday and stopped that morning, according to Austin Water. During cleanup, crews discovered the spill had flowed into a tributary of Gilliland Creek and extended downstream to the Cameron Road crossing.
