The Amarillo Police Department SWAT team took 24-year-old Juan Soto into custody on Wednesday, December 17, following an ongoing investigation. Soto had been actively sought after evading officers in a motor vehicle on multiple occasions. SWAT observed a vehicle known to be associated with Soto’s family at an apartment complex in the 5800 block of Southwest 58th Avenue. Officers observed Soto park the vehicle and enter an apartment. An arrest team and perimeter were established. Soto was observed attempting to flee from the rear of the apartment and was taken into custody without incident.
