JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Jackson Police Department (JPD) made arrests following the execution of a search warrant related to the Carol Ryan missing persons investigation.
On Monday, JPD detectives located a body buried in the backyard of the residence. The body was recovered at the scene. Identification and cause of death are pending further investigation. As a result of JPD’s investigation, 50-year-old John Ryan and 48-year-old Samantha Ryan, husband and wife, have been arrested and charged with desecration of a human corpse.

The son and daughter-in-law of Carol Ryan appeared before a Municipal Court Judge on Wednesday morning. John Ryan received a $100,000 bond and Samantha Ryan received a $75,000 bond.
