Bharvi Soni’s maternityleave was supposed to be blissful. Her son was nearly four, and her daughter had just arrived on Feb. 12, 2020. With her husband on paternity leave and her parents visiting from Chicago to help, they mapped out eight peaceful weeks of sun-kissed stroller walks through her Frisco neighborhood. Their home was a cocoon from the outside world, full of baby powder-scented dreams.
Then came the rumors.
“There’s some rumblings about some flights being shut down,” Soni recalls of the time before her parents drove back home. “This is gonna be fine,” she thought, until the shutdowns began…
