ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Albuquerque is continuing to try to shut down a Nob Hill bookstore that’s allowing a homeless camp in its parking lot. A Monday night fire at the camp is sparking new concerns from nearby businesses.

Neighbors saw flames rising several feet into the air Monday night, as a group of tents burned. While the business owner is still committed to letting the camp exist, others said they’re scared over the continued issues at the property.
A nearby cannabis shop manager, Braydon Cox, is among those reacting to the latest fire outside of Quirky Books near Washington and Central. He said Monday night’s fire which was caught on camera, isn’t the first. “It’s just a sketchy place to be around for anyone,” said Cox, manager of Score 420. “It’s all around just a dangerous area to be right now, and I don’t see it changing any time soon in all honesty. We are actually thinking about possibly closing this location down because of it.”…
