Eugene’s $50K grants support diverse cultural park events

EUGENE, Ore. – The City of Eugene is investing in its cultural landscape by distributing more than $50,000 in “Art in the Parks” grants.

Each of the 11 recipients will receive up to $5,000 to host arts and cultural events in city parks. The initiative aims to attract people to Eugene, promote cultural exchange, and foster a sense of belonging and safety for marginalized communities.

“So, this past year, I believe we put on 16 concerts,” said JP Lempke, executive director of the Eugene Difficult Music Ensemble. “For the art in the parks, we did Ambient Ecology. We’re doing that again this year.”…
