SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Market 32 and Price Chopper have issued an involuntary recall for select frozen raw shrimp on Tuesday. Officials at the grocery store said they are recalling the shrimp for a potential Cesium-137 contamination.

Manufactured by Direct Source Seafood LLC, Market 32 officials said the recall is for the Market 32 by Price Chopper brand, 26- to 30-count, farm-raised, easy-peel, raw shrimp with UPC 4173501358. The affected products were reportedly sold after July 11, 2025, and have a best-by date of April 25 through 27, 2026.
Officials added that the potential contamination occurred before the products were shipped to Market 32 and the Price Chopper Distribution Center. The grocery store said the recall is precautionary and that no products have tested positive for contamination.

No illnesses have been reported, and Market 32 said customers who purchased the recalled shrimp may already have been contacted by Price Chopper’s Broadnet recall notification program. The recall notification program uses customer purchase data and the customer’s phone numbers on file to alert them to the recall.
