A-B Tech Basic Law Enforcement Training graduates 20 new officers

New law enforcement officers will soon be patrolling local streets, thanks to A-B Tech.

All 20 graduates of the Basic Law Enforcement Training program have secured jobs with area agencies, said Director Daryl Fisher, who presided over the Dec. 18 ceremony. Weaverville Police Chief Somer Oberlin was guest speaker, while Yasmin Melo-Baron delivered the class address.

“This ceremony is a celebration of hard work, growth and achievement,” Fisher said. “They trained together as a team and will move forward individually with a shared commitment to serve.”…
