FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The driver who fled the scene of a suspected DUI crash near Laton turned himself the day after the California Highway Patrol announced the incident.
CHP reported on Monday that a driver caused a multi-vehicle crash at Fowler and Davis avenues, near Laton, before fleeing the scene.
Officers say the head-on crash caused major damage to the vehicles involved and moderate injuries to the occupants. Investigators also suspected alcohol was a factor.
Despite an extensive search, CHP says the suspect wasn’t found.
The following day, on Tuesday, officers say the driver contacted CHP and turned himself in. He was ultimately booked into the Fresno County Jail…
