I have a pond and drive my garbage, yet Marion County increased my taxes for stormwater runoff and garbage

I have lived here since the 1980’s. I don’t mind paying my fair share, but taxes have gotten out of hand. Our non-ad valorem taxes went up over $200 this year. Most of it was for school, storm water and garbage.

I have a pond in my backyard, but still get charged for storm water runoff. I have to drive 1.5 miles to take my garbage to the dump.

And I thought the Lottery was supposed to take care of our schools? It makes money hand over fist but the school taxes keep going up…
