Ex-deputy’s lawyers allege conflicting official reports in double-fatal Perdido Key crash

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — New details are coming to light in the case of a former Escambia County Sheriff’s deputy charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.

As WEAR News previously reported, 58-year-old Greg Nesmith was charged in November in the deaths of two Alabama teenagers who were crossing Perdido Key Drive in July.

Now, Nesmith is asking a judge to take a closer look at how state investigators handled the homicide report used to charge him. His attorneys say they’ve found differing versions of the report from the incident…
