Brown University’s security draws Education Department investigation after shooting

The Education Department on Monday said it would launch an investigation into Brown University following a shooting earlier this month that resulted in the death of two students.

Officials say the school potentially violated the Clery Act, which requires institutions of higher education to meet certain campus safety and security-related requirements as a condition of receiving federal student aid.
