For blocks surrounding Helping Hands of St. Louis in East Toledo, small green and red boxes could be spotted in the hands of nearly every person.
Those boxes, full of Christmas cookies, were souvenirs from Helping Hands’ annual Christmas dinner. Community members flocked to the parish-turned-community center on Tuesday to eat kielbasa, ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and green beans — and left with some sweets to enjoy later.
