Testing has begun for new decorative lighting on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Bridge that has been installed during an overhaul.
The new lights’ installation is one reason why lane closings have persisted the bridge linking downtown Toledo’s Cherry Street with Main Street in East Toledo after its lanes’ reconfiguration and resurfacing was completed well over a month ago, a city official said.
“We are doing some mechanical work and then the programming for the lights,” said Tori Lane, a Toledo Department of Transportation spokesman. “We anticipate some additional full closures early next year for testing, and that the full project will complete in early February.”…
