‘Sirens and Salutes’ hands out presents to local veterans

DALEVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — At Melrose Towers in Roanoke and the Carrington Place in Daleville, 39 veterans received everything on their Christmas wish list, courtesy of local non-profit Sirens & Salutes and its founder Bill Price.

“They really don’t want much,” said Price, who has made this a yearly Christmas Eve tradition. “Socks, t-shirts, pajama bottoms. One guy wanted a steak. That’s all he wanted was a steak. So, we bought him a steak.”

Sirens & Salutes collects their wish lists and asks the community to ‘adopt’ a veteran by purchasing the gifts on the list…
