If you find yourself annoyed by the number of freight trucks on Interstate 35 or Loop 1604, brace yourself — the amount of freight traffic in the local region is set to increase by leaps and bounds in coming decades, according to a recent report.
By 2050, the local region is set to “endure unprecedented growth” of freight traffic, according to the report, titled the AAMPO Regional Freight Study, published by the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, a regional transportation planning agency.
