Pine Street Inn in Boston opened its doors on Christmas Eve to hundreds of people seeking warmth, food and shelter during one of the most difficult times of the year.
Guests were welcomed with carols as volunteers prepared and served around 1,000 meals, continuing a tradition that has lasted for more than half a century.
