Parts of New York and New Jersey to see 8 inches of snow as white Christmas arrives late

New York and New Jersey won’t quite see a white Christmas this year, but it’ll be a close call as a snowstorm is set to make its way into the region on Friday.

Forecasters are becoming increasingly confident that snow will accumulate in the tri-state area Friday into Saturday. Some models are predicting as much as six inches of snow for the immediate New York City area.

In the meantime, up to eight inches is likely in northern New Jersey and the Hudson Valley while even higher totals are possible farther inland at higher elevations around Sullivan and Ulster counties, Storm Team 4 reports…
