CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Horizons has received a $2 million anonymous donation for its new senior center in Cedar Rapids.
The city has not had a dedicated senior center since the 2008 flood. Horizons said the 17-year lack of a senior center has created challenges for older adults in the community.
Horizons plans to renovate its 13,000-square-foot building in the Oak Hill-Jackson neighborhood on 5th Street Southeast. The center will be called “Our Place” and will include a cafe, fitness studio, library, movie room, three activity spaces and an outdoor pickleball court…
